E Paul Lian has recently announced his retirement after a thirty year career in the Life Insurance - Pension business. Career highlights included achieving Qualifying Member status in the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), recognized as the premier sales organization within the Financial Services industry. Lian received several awards fom the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) for his product knowledge, customer service and personal production. His clientele of small business owners, families and individuals resided primarily in the Minneapolis - St Paul area. Mr Lian served as President of the 500 member St Paul Life Underwriter's Association.
A 1963 graduate of Owatonna (MN) High School, Lian went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, awarded him a Master's Degree in Educational Administration. An Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force was distinguished by serving as a group facilitator at the Special Treatment Center For Drug Abuse, Lackland AFB, TX. At Keesler AFB, MS, Lian served with the 3389th Pilot Training School as a Physical Training Instructor working with the Student Pilots from Southeast Asia. Prior to his business career, Mr Lian was a fourth grade classroom teacher in the Anoka - Hennepin Independant School District, Anoka, MN.
Mr Lian's volunteer activities included serving as President of the National Alumni Board of Directors at Concordia College. He was also President of the Fridley (MN) Jaycees and was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow from Rotary International. In Minneapolis, Lian sang with the Mount Olivet Lutheran Church Adult Choir which included two European tours with the choir singing several concerts in Norway, Sweden, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
An avid golfer, Lian was a member of Golden Valley Country Club in Minneapolis and Desert Forest Golf Club in Carefree, AZ. An extended trip through Scotland and Ireland concluded a fun and exciting fifty year golfing adventure.
Lian has a blended family which includes three adult children, Skip, Polly and Eric and nine grandchildren, Rob, Rebecca, Rachel, Aaron, Chris, Robbie, Cassie, Brooke and Courtney.
